Our guest this Sunday at Vintage Church really needs no introduction. Ben Grubbs is a Pro Bowl Offensive Lineman for the New Orleans Saints and is the founder of the Ben Grubbs Foundation. Follow him on twitter: @BenGrubbs66. You can read more about Ben and his foundation HERE. His foundation is hosting an annual charity softball game with his teammates at Zephyrs’ Field on May 21st. You can get tickets on his website. Over the last couple of years I’ve had the privilege of getting to know Ben and consider him a great friend. Recently, Jesus has transformed Ben’s life and I had the privilege of baptizing Ben in San Diego at Pro Athletes Outreach.
I am so excited to have Ben at Vintage Church to share about what Jesus has done and is doing in his life. He is going to help us jump back into our journey through the book of Acts called The Movement. This week we are going to walk through an important Scripture and learn that the Gospel of Jesus is for all people. Jesus breaks down all barriers and comes to everyone in the world with His amazing truth and love. Sadly a lot of people are judged and not ever given a chance because of their past, their belief system, their ethnicity, or even their place in society. A few weeks ago I took a trip with Ben that helped us see how much Jesus loves all people. This Sunday Ben and I are going to share about our latest journey to the world famous Angola State Prison. We had the privilege of meeting and serving so many great people. It was a great honor to be included with so many great chaplains and players from around the league. During a worship time we did a little Q&A time and then Mike Singletary preached the Word. It was incredible witnessing so many prisoners come to faith in Jesus. Before we left the prison, one of the chaplains came to us with tears in his eyes and shared with Ben that he was the first New Orleans Saints Player to visit Angola. This trip was a life changing moment for both of us and we are excited to take many more in the future.
Ben shared about our experience on the New Orleans Saints Black & Blue Report. You can read and listen to the interview HERE. Invest and Invite your friends to Vintage Church this Sunday at Rock ’n’ Bowl 8:30am/10:30am!
